by ME!
a distant memory,
almost as if it was from decades ago
they say you can remember what you want and forget the rest
but what if it slips away?
no matter how hard you try..
it falls through your fingers
I close my eyes,
piecing the few fragments of a puzzle
praying it will be complete
was it a green traffic light
or was it a big tree
I adored calling tall green?
big boulder at the park?
is it gone?
a figment of my imagination?
confusion arises.
sorrow. frustration.
will I ever remember?
for now
pieces of a broken puzzle
each one disappears.
lost forever
for now

Innocence
i open the front door
what do I see
cherry blossoms blooming
far above my head
the sun is shining
the smell of a fresh new day
I turn on the TV
what do I hear
another car bomb
another ten dead
will there ever be peace
in the middle east?
four years of genocide
hearts in tears
lives in fear
is there an end in sight?
a nation
forced to pick sides
whatever happened to
“together we stand
divided we fall”?
a false pretense
the truth hidden from me
innocence lost
an empty facade?
here i am
forced to reveal
the truths of reality
isn’t there another option?
Sean Bell Shooting
May 4, 2008
(agreatvideo)
So, everyone knows about the Sean Bell shooting and the trial that ruled in favor of the police =[
Like most, I was really shocked and disappointed and angry that the murderers got away with shooting 50 or so bullets at a man. Throughout history, we always hear about men who are supposed to protect the people, men who are supposed to make the world a safer place, be hypocrites. Yes, they are HYPOCRITES. They arrest those who shoot innocent people who have done nothing. Yet, they still shot a man because of his skin color. Other examples of misconduct include the Kent State riot in May 1970- the National Guard shot 67 bullets in a barrage lasting 13 seconds upon demonstrators who were protesting the Vietnam War.
What bothered me the most, was the racial factor. It really hurts me, especially being Indian, that the world is still unkind. We still are making the same mistakes over and over again that we made centuries ago. HIstory is supposed to teach us to learn from the past and make sure that such occurrences will never happen again. So, why do people still resent people of diversity? I just cannot seem to understand what those policemen were thinking as they fired those bullets at Sean Bell.
It just really hurts me that innocent people get hurt for being different. Uniqueness is supposed to be celebrated. Not something frowned upon! It’s ignorance. Ignorance is whitewashing the world. && that needs to stop.
Rest in Peace, Sean Bell.

abortion ?
May 4, 2008

Well, in order to fully decide if you support abortion, you need to know what exactly it is? Wikipedia’s definition seems to dumb the process down for the average American- “An abortion is the removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus from the uterus, resulting in or caused by its death. “
The topic of abortion is met with a ton of controversy- Morals or Freedom. Is it okay to murder a being? Should women be in control of their body? Abortion is one of the issues that cannot really have a compromise. At first, I was against the concept for the most part. However, I believed that victims of rape should have the decision to terminate their pregnancies. If there was CONSENT, women should not have that decision. They need to face the consequences of their actions. In life, one cannot run away from his or her problems. YOU CAN’T KILL THEM EITHER. While looking through an image to begin this post, I came across pictures of fetuses and embryos that were dead because of an abortion. I WAS SICKENED. I could not believe that THAT was an abortion. It is murder. I am not so sure anymore if rape victims should have that right. I mean, there are adoption agencies. To cope with the pain of the rape, the governement can provide counselling.
After all, isn’t murder frowned upon by God?
